I started this actually months ago – finally finished as well.  Egg tempera, gold, and oil on panel.  17 by 14 inches.

I’m finished with this as well – here is the top part.  This is based on a Medieval Italian icon – it’s egg tempera, oil, 24K gold.

Final Christ the Teacher Icon

I’m finally getting around to posting how this was finished.  Final size is 6 feet by 10 feet, oil on Canvas.  If you’re not familiar with traditional iconography, the lettering in the halo represents the Greek phrase, “I who Am” – referring to the divinity of Christ.
